About Us

Hello and welcome to Castle Country in Utah!  Carbon County has been nicknamed Castle Country from the many rock formations resembling castles, most notably the "Castle Gate" in Helper. My great-grandparents settled in this area in the late 1800's and my parents developed and built the Blue Cut RV Park here in Carbonville in 1976.  The park also is home to Price City's first jail, which was saved from demolition by my grandfather. The area was named the Blue Cut because of the layer of blue shale excavated while building the first road.  I'm Michelle and I operate the Blue Cut RV Park, with the help of my husband, Bob.   We hope that you will take the time to visit us during your travels.  We take pride in the personal touch we offer, so feel free to call us anytime!  The RV park is surrounded by farmland to the south, a golf course and highway  to the north and west, and beautiful views of adjacent cliffs to the east.  You'll enjoy your stay here, so we hope to see you soon!

Here's just a little bit about Carbon County and Eastern Utah

Carbonville is located about halfway between Price and Helper, on U.S. Highway 6, approximately 60 miles south of Provo, Utah.  Carbon county has a rich history which includes railroading, coal mining, and ranching.  The "Old West" was alive and well here.  Coal was discovered in the 1870's and many coal camps sprung up.  The Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad came next and made Carbon County a hub for transporting coal.  Many laborers immigrated from Italy, Greece, Croatia, Yugoslavia, France, Germany, Japan, and Carbon County became a melting pot of many different cultures with distinct traditions.  In 1897, Butch Cassidy held up the Castle Gate payroll, and made off with $8,000 in gold and silver.  The town of Helper (named for the "Helper" train engine that would help push the heavy trains up to the summit) became a hub of activity with many saloons, hotels, and eateries, as well as houses of ill-repute.  It was a wild Western town, during the expansion of the United States westward, and was home to cowboys, outlaws, railroad men, and coal miners.  Nowadays, Carbon County has settled down quite a bit, but the history remains, and there are museums and monuments which tell the account of the county's colorful history.

The Blue Cut RV Park is located in the center of the county, between Price and Helper in Carbonville.  The park is located on a level site adjacent to the Price River.  Steep cliffs are located to the east, providing a nice backdrop.  The park has many mature trees that provide shade in the summertime.  Located a short distance from U.S. Highway 6, the park is easily accessible for any size RV. We have full hook-ups with water, sewer, and power.  There are both 30 and 50 Amp hookups.  We have several pull-through spaces for larger RVs.  There is a dumpster for garbage, dog park, a laundry facility, and WiFi available for a nominal fee for those who want it.  Shower and restroom facilities are recently remodeled. Many of our visitors are repeat customers who have enjoyed the scenic location.  You are welcome to call me between 7 AM--8 PM for reservations.  Our RV park is personable, scenic, and convenient, making it a good value.  We typically have an annual barbecue in the later summer months.  Come visit, and enjoy your stay at the Blue Cut RV Park!
